{"id":1012,"date":"2020-08-28T18:28:04","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T16:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/mjb\/stephane-mandelbaum\/"},"modified":"2025-07-02T12:25:22","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T10:25:22","slug":"stephane-mandelbaum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mjb-jmb.org\/nl\/stephane-mandelbaum\/","title":{"rendered":"St\u00e9phane Mandelbaum"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>St\u00e9phane Mandelbaum, geboren te Brussel in 1961, maakte al vanaf zijn kindertijd op een geobsedeerde manier tekeningen, die de rode draad vormen van het verhaal dat deze monografische tentoonstelling toont. Op 25-jarige leeftijd werd hij in verdachte omstandigheden vermoord door figuren uit de onderwereld. Een van de beste specialisten van zijn repertoire vat zijn leven treffend samen: \u2018Mandelbaum zette geweld op papier, en zo kwam hij zelf ook aan zijn einde.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het iconoclastische \u0153uvre van St\u00e9phane Mandelbaum valt te lezen als het dagboek van een kunstenaar, dat aan de ene kant is gecre\u00eberd door een fictief personage, en aan de andere kant door een identiteitszoektocht dat wordt gedragen door zijn joodse afkomst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De tekeningen van Mandelbaum vormen een denkbeeldig geheel op papier en laten veel willekeurigheid achter in het artistiek project dat gevormd werd door een kluwen van verweven lotsbestemmingen (hij was gefascineerd voor Pasoloni Bacon Rimbaud), geprojecteerde beelden (Jiddische geschriften integreerde hem) maar ook door confrontaties met de realiteit (misdaden in Belgi\u00eb). Het resultaat is een expressionistisch en ambigu werk, waarin een sterke wil om te beledigen opvalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Na een expositie in het&nbsp;<em>Centre Georges Pompidou<\/em>&nbsp;in Parijs is het Joods Museum van Belgi\u00eb verheugd om deze tentoonstelling te organiseren van 14 juni tot 22 september 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-3 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
